How I lead, serve, and support others through athletics, technology, faith, and outreach.
As a captain of Syracuse High Schools Swim team, I not only assist with practices and helping team members, but also the coaches. We help them order gear, suits, and much more. Being a swim team captain has helped me to become a leader over people that are the same age as me, maybe even older
Starting in 6th grade, all the way though last year, I participated in Robotics and Technology Student Association (TSA). In these clubs, I learned how to build robots, program them, and work as a team to solve problems. I was only apart of TSA my sophmore year, but it helped me to see the gender diffrence of women in STEM. This is wear the motivation assisting with TechHers came into play.
I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and have had many leadership roles within the church. As of this current moment (October 2024), I am serving as a the Young Womens President of the 16-18 class in my ward. Not only have I been President, But I've also been secrateries and counselors. By being the top leader, but also a leader under others, it has taught me to communicate and grow with those who lead with me.
At the Davis Catalyst Center, I am currently participating in a capstone project where we are moving a game over from one platfrom, over to microsoft. This is helping me to learn and see how real life projects could look like and operate like in my future career.
Additionally, I am also assisting with the catalyst centers annual event, TechHers. As one of only 2 girls in my cyber security class, I see it as a real issue that the Computer Science Gender split is so uneven. By helping with TechHers, I am able to reach the younger audience and spread my concern, but also passion for computer science.
